Questions people ask

Is the WhatsApp channel going away?

No. The channel stays exactly where it is, and it is still the fastest way to hear that a role exists. Revert is where you can do something about it: ask what the interview was like, or find the person who already works there. Use both. Nothing is being taken away.

Does it cost anything?

No. Joining, posting, asking and answering are free. If something paid ever shows up it will be an extra on the side, not a gate in front of the room.

Who can see my details?

Other members see your username, and whatever you choose to put on your profile. They never see your email, and there is no phone number to see because we never ask for one.

What if I already have a job?

Revert is free,
and stays free.

No ads, no data sold, nobody paying to reach you. It is one person and a server bill. If it has been useful and you are in a position to, you can chip in. If you are not, ignore this and use it anyway. That is what it is for.

    • Plenty of people here do. They are the ones answering questions and passing on referrals, which is most of what makes the room worth being in.

    Can I post an opening myself?

    Share it in the Hub and anyone can pick it up — unlike a forward, it stays searchable for whoever starts looking next month. Job Alerts itself is posted by mods, so what lands there has been looked at first.

    Do I need to install an app?

    No. It opens in your browser like any other website, and your browser can put it on your home screen if you want it there. An Android app is on the way.

    Do I have to stay anonymous?

    No. A username is all we ask for — what you put next to it is yours to decide. Plenty of people here are fully named with their company on their profile, and plenty are not.

    Can I delete my account?

    Yes, from your profile, whenever you like. Your account and everything on it go, and you are removed from every room. Messages you already posted stay, so the replies underneath them still make sense.

    Will it keep buzzing my phone?

    Only if you let it. You choose what reaches you — your own name, replies, announcements to everyone, new openings — each on its own. A live QnA in a room of two thousand will not wake you up unless you asked it to.
